Before we get to today's vote, let's do two things. First, give yourselves a pat on the back as I thank you so much for voting and offering your takes on the matchups of the day, every day for the last month or so. It's been a fun diversion, but only because of all of the back and forth between you guys and gals.

Second, let's take a look at the road these brave women took to get to the championship. Please cue up "Wind Beneath My Wings" on your iPod and/or other listening device.

Ladies of the 80s Tournament - Round 3: Elisabeth Shue (1) vs Rae Dawn Chong (2)

Previous results: It was a damn close matchup that went back and forth, but star of yesterday and today Demi Moore topped the currently M.I.A. Mia Sara (I swear I wasn't planning that - it just kinda happened), 25-22. Our first semifinal matchup is set: Moore vs. Ringwald. Click here to view the updated full bracket.

Ladies of the 80s Tournament - Round 2: Elisabeth Shue (1) vs Tanya Roberts (5)

Previous results: It was a tie as recently as an hour ago. Then I put the call out for some more votes to settle it, and the Red Menace came away with the victory, toppling Travolta's Wife, 22-20, in one of the closest and most voted-on matchups yet. Click here to view the updated full bracket.

Ladies of the 80s Tournament - Round 1: Elisabeth Shue (1) vs P.J. Soles (8)

Previous results: First it was a blowout for Vanity. Then Sheedy made a comeback and looked like the winner. Then it was neck and neck and finally tied before a late Vanity surge gave her the win, 15-12. Click here to view the updated full bracket.

Elisabeth Shue

Breakdown: Like Jennifer Grey, Shue's looks allowed her to play much younger than her age. She was 21 for her breakout as Daniel LaRusso's girlfriend in The Karate Kid, and was 26 when she co-starred as Michael J. Fox's high school girlfriend/future wife in the Back to the Future sequel. Adding to those beloved films are the others listed below that, together, make her an 80s icon.
80s Highlights: The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting, Cocktail, Back to the Future, Part II

P.J. Soles

Breakdown: It's hard to say if Soles is known more for her 70s resume (Carrie and Halloween) or the two memorable military comedies she did in the 80s (below). But it's pretty easy to say that she didn't really do much of anything notable after that...
80s Highlights: Pvt. Benjamin, Stripes
