TGITDNMAR (4/15/11)

It's that time again for TGITDNMAR, which (obviously) stands for Thank God It's The Day New Movies Are Released.

Scream 4
In honor of the biggest Scream 4 fan I know of (that had yet to see the film)...

"Scream 4 Update!! Scream 4 Update!!"

Ok, so I don't really have any news to share. And frankly (no pun intended), I've never really had that much interest in seeing it - we all know the 3rd one was crappy...why would a decade help? A bunch of new teens? Ok. Kevin Williamson kinda sorta back on board? Sure, 'cause he's been relevant since Scream 2.

However, it's going to be the subject of next week's LAMBcast, which will (I believe) be the first time we have participants from three continents on board, so now I kinda want to see the flick just to be in on that. Why is that cool? I don't know, but it just is.

Rio
Looks gorgeous, but appears to otherwise be just for the kiddies. However, did you know that there's an Angry Birds Rio edition? Well, if you're life has been taken over by that ridiculous game like mine has, you sure do. What does that have to do with the film? Nothing, but I can't think of anything else to say about it. At least it's not Hop.

I agree that Scream 3 was kinda terrible. Still, I think Scream 4 is worth seeking out.

Also, if your last film I watched bar is to be believed, you just watched Rashomon, which is a fantastic movie. You should definitely check out more Kurosawa if you haven't yet.

@ James - It is to be believed! You'll get to hear all about it tomorrow...

I might see Scream 4, but I would have to see the 2 and the 3 first I suppose...

Rio looks pretty bad.

I see you've watched Rashomon, it's awesome, I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

Scream 4 was pretty dang good. You really wouldn't need to see the 2nd and 3rd to get it. The only reason would be to understand the primary characters better and know who dies off. Otherwise, it mainly just references the first film (and a little of the second).

I echo Nick here, you don't really need prior knowledge of the Trilogy to enjoy this. But...

SCREAM 4 was AWESOME! SCREAM 4 was AWESOME!

Yes, I'm biased and completely in love with this franchise, but as the super awesome credits rolled I wanted to see it again pronto! If I had Skype or some other voicey programmy thing I would go bonkers on a LAMBCast about my love for this film. For now, a super long review with the word 'awesome' repeated ten dozen times will have to suffice.

@ Jess - You're welcome!

@ Jack - And hear them you will! I spoke about it on the most recent LAMBcast, which will be up next week. Though I guess I'll probably mention it in the upcoming State on Wednesday.

@ Nick - We already talked about it...

@ Andy - If you have a computer, you can get Skype - it's free! Having a mic or headset helps, though. Otherwise, I'd say "Hell yeah!" You need to join us for an upcoming show, and this seems like a good opportunity.

I *might* see it in time for next week's show...

Of course I have none of that, not even a laptop. Sadness. Primarily using the school computers. When I get back home I'll see what I can do, because it would be awesome to join you guys on a show. Sucks though, I would super enjoy talking about this gorgeous film of gorgeousness.
