Ladies of the 90s Tournament - Round 1: Uma Thurman (3) vs Natasha Henstridge (6)

Alright, folks - enough foreplay, let's get this party started. We begin with Uma and Natasha, two exotic names and even more exotic ladies. Click here to view the full bracket. Here are the resumes:

Uma Thurman

Comments: Where in the hell do I start with Uma? I mean, Pulp certainly overshadows the rest of her 90s resume, but looking back, I was surprised myself at how deep and varied the work was. In the early 90s, she was still the ingenue from all those art flicks (Dangerous Liaisons, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Henry & June, and, ahem, Johnny Be Good). She quickly transitioned into supporting and even leading roles in the (underseen and underrated, if you ask me) thrillers Final Analysis and Jennifer Eight. Then came Pulp, and her career blew up, with plum starring roles all over the place. Of course, some of those didn't work out quite so well (Batman & Robin, The Avengers), but going back to the Tarantino well in the early 00s remedied any problems her career was having.
90s Highlights: Pulp Fiction, Gattaca, Beautiful Girls, Jennifer Eight, Final Analysis

Natasha Henstridge

Comments: Miss Henstridge got shot out of a cannon from relative obscurity (shockingly, she was a model prior to beginning her acting career) to instant fame at age 21, nabbing the starring role in the sci-fi actioner Species. She would go on to star in its sequel (and appear in the third installment, released in the 00s), but the only other credit of note for her in the 90s is the Jean Claude Van Damme-starring Maximum Risk, made towards the tail end of his heyday. She would later gain additional fame in The Whole __ Yards series and on TV, but as far as the 90s go, she'll always be known (and only known) as "that hot chick from Species."
90s Highlights: Species, Species II

Sucks to be the hot chick from Species. This isn't even a fair contest.

@ Paul - tell me about it. I thought this shit would be closer. This is a bloodbath.

@ Nick - Yup, I'm guilty, too. Henstridge is better looking yet more generic, and her resume is a shell of Uma's.

I love Natasha...love her, but like Paul wrote, it is just not a fair match up for her. Not even close.

Mmmm... so I'm not really sure who Natasha Henstridge is since I've never seen any of the things you listed.

Even if she wasn't great in Baron Munchausen and Pulp Fiction, Uma Thurman is Poison Ivy, so it'd always be no contest

"Come join me... my garden needs tending."

I'm gonna pretend that sentence about Uma Thurman didn't just happen, Alex.

Hi! Fletch...
I just voted for actress Uma Thurman,
Unfortunately, I'am unfamiliar with actress Natasha Henstridge, work on film.
DeeDee ;-D

Uma gets the vote, but if this was HotorNot, she would lose horribly.

Nick: I was obsessed with Batman and Robin when I was a kid, and for a while it was the main thing I identified Uma with. I'm sorry if this is upsetting to hear.

@ Alex - funny, I had just happened upon an Outlandish Statements post earlier today in which I think you commented that the later Batmans were better than the 1989 one. Correct?

This was never a contest, though Aiden's comment rings a bit true. Don't know how horribly it would be for Uma, but she'd definitely lose.
