Comments: Where in the hell do I start with Uma? I mean,
Pulp certainly overshadows the rest of her 90s resume, but looking back, I was surprised myself at how deep and varied the work was. In the early 90s, she was still the ingenue from all those art flicks (
Dangerous Liaisons,
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen,
Henry & June, and, ahem,
Johnny Be Good). She quickly transitioned into supporting and even leading roles in the (underseen and underrated, if you ask me) thrillers
Final Analysis and
Jennifer Eight. Then came
Pulp, and her career blew up, with plum starring roles all over the place. Of course, some of those didn't work out quite so well (
Batman & Robin,
The Avengers), but going back to the Tarantino well in the early 00s remedied any problems her career was having.

Comments: Miss Henstridge got shot out of a cannon from relative obscurity (shockingly, she was a model prior to beginning her acting career) to instant fame at age 21, nabbing the starring role in the sci-fi actioner
Species. She would go on to star in its sequel (and appear in the third installment, released in the 00s), but the only other credit of note for her in the 90s is the Jean Claude Van Damme-starring
Maximum Risk, made towards the tail end of his heyday. She would later gain additional fame in
The Whole __ Yards series and on TV, but as far as the 90s go, she'll always be known (and only known) as "that hot chick from Species."
90s Highlights: Species, Species II
