Their mission, should they choose to accept it (they did): Bring a random Top 5 to the recording of LAMBcast #33. Note to self: do this again soon sometime, and be sure that you're there for the recording. In other words, some great lists here, not only in the movies that were chosen, but in the lists that these five guys came up with. They were a bit psyched for it, so it took a bit longer than usual (1 hr 23 mins), but I think it's worth it. In on the fun were Nick, Jason, James, Kai, and, in his first time hosting (be gentle), Sebastian.
The lists were then topped off with two surprising games of LLS games and some Trailer Talk about Sucker Punch and Monsters.
As usual, the music, as provided royalty-free by Kevin MacLeod's Incompetech website, is the bomb. Big thanks to Kevin for providing this service.
Also, we're still on iTunes, and would still love a review, even if it's a bad one. Thanks for listening!
FYI: I started a dedicated Facebook page for the LAMBcast. I'll still post something here when a new episode is released, but if you're looking for a central place for commentary, suggestions, complaints, etc., go here.
19 people have chosen wisely: on "LAMBcast #33"
Y'know...I really have no excuse for not giving feedback, especially how seemingly every episode SOMEONE says something that I radically disagree with.
I'll rectify that going forward.
It's usually me, isn't it?
Does oembody need a hug?
I love LAMBcast and Dylan is a wonderful person! YAY!!!
Kai - comments is currency, and I needs to get paid!
k... well here's some currency for ya. Infected people are Zombies!
Oh jesus christ! Are you and Nick gonna start a blood feud over that, or what?
If so, are you taking bets?
Sebastian, Kai - I suggest checking out LAMBcast #3. Good stuff there on this topic. Nick will travel to the ends of the world...
*glares*
My bad guys, I know you are putting a lot of effort into this and I really should leave a comment every time.
One thing though, I do think the Lambcast is getting a bit long winded at nearly an hour and a half. I would think keeping it below 45 minutes would definitely be helpful in having more people tuning in.
We typically don't do 1.5 hour long episodes very often. But I can tell you now that below 45 minutes won't happen. I don't think we've ever had one that short. I'm not even sure if "The Room" special/mini edition was that short.
Castor - Muchas gracias!
I agree with you on the length. I did a lot of cutting even to get this one down to the length its at. I know that I think 1.5 hour podcasts are too long, so I try to shoot for less than an hour, and we have indeed been trending a bit longer lately. With 5 or 6 people it's hard to get them super short, but it is certainly an area for improvement.
Nick - sorry, not correct. The first one was 34 minutes, as was the Room ep. There have been a couple others that were around 45, but the last 4 have all been 67 minutes or longer. I just edited the next episode (34) last night, and it's currently at 71 minutes. Perhaps I'll try to cut some more fat from it.
Wow, really? I guess it's just been so long since we've had an episode that short... which I suppose was the point of this comment :P .
I listened to ep 3 but don't remember it so I'll go back. I'll have Nick on MILFcast later this year and we'll resume this in a civilized manner of course. Until then, I'm sure it will be mentioned at some point in eps 35 or 37. muhuahua
As a guy with a podcast that's generally an hour and a half, I have no problem with the length. Plus I usually listen to them when I'm doing something else. Plus I think we're pretty damn entertaining for people to be complaining about length.
And all the girls I been with seem to like my length ok...oh wait.
-Jason
Jason: Well done!
I can't find episode 13. It's not on iTunes, I don't think, and it's not on podomatic.
Kai (re: MILFcast): You're on :P .
k... but remember... Rules:
1. I said a civilized conversation.
2.I'm putting a time limit on it. Resolved or not... my guess is not.
3. "I'm a stubborn bastard" does not win the argument! :)
Jason - You get a pass having a show that's only monthly. Asking people to listen to a weekly 1.5 hour show in addition to whatever other shows they might listen to is a bit much, if you ask me. I mean, if it's entertaining and worth the time spent, people will do it, but you also have to think about when people are listening. I do most of my listening during my commute, and thank christ it ain't that long.
Kai, Nick - been there, done that. Nick will not be converted. He's wrong, and that's all there is to it. Kai, what you said in the ep is essentially my argument. I don't care if they're called "womp rats" in the movie, if it's structured like a zombie movie, I'm calling it one.
I'm not wrong! It's not a zombie movie. Post-apocalyptic, yes. I'll take that. Zombie... no.
And I suppose I can't win the argument the same way I tried to end the one with Dylan? "Your face is a zombie movie."
