Poor Anthony Michael Hall
Johnny Depp. Even though the 80's doesn't have much going for him. The 90's and 21 Jump Street is where it gets good.
When I think Johnny Depp I definitely don't think 80s. He had some good films, but he's barely in them. At least not enough to justify. I think his now famous rep will carry him through.
But I'm going Hall, because his career will forever be ingrained in 80's mystique.
Well Depp is definitely much better looking than Hall in the 80's. I don't know how many ladies vote in this competition but that should carry him through.
Can't believe Johnny Depp has only two votes so far, what a travesty!
I think it was AnswerMVP yesterday that called that matchup a true test of "80s-ness" vs. hotness; this one seems to be a very similar case.
In the end, it won't matter; Depp was in enough (a lot more than some of the ladies, who have very limited resumes and really little impact) to make him important enough to the 80s (21 Jump Street started then, but was only excluded due to being TV), and his so much better looking that he'll dominate.
Speaking of which, Olive - did you mean poor Anthony or did you just misread the poll?
edward scissorhands was 1990... THAT was when johnny depp BECAME johnny depp. so my vote is with anthony michael hall.

21 Jump Street is worth Depp being on here, that show is crazy. Cops going undercover at schools as teenagers, busting kids for prostitution and murder. A little over the top but it's the closest thing to a crime show I'll ever watch.
It should be mandatory that anyone who voted for Molly Ringwald should also vote for Anthony Michael Hall. Pretty much the same other gender equivalent.
I'm for Anthony Michael Hall on this one for the same reason I voted for Molly yesterday: they are the quintessential 80's poster kids.
JSR - don't tell that to the character Molly played in Breakfast Club. AMH was the doofus!
I voted for Depp, but now I feel all guilty. AMH was indeed an 80s poster child/star. Christ, he was Rusty!
Speaking of whatever happened to (ok, it was in the comments for the Ladies), a whole entry could also be devoted to all of the people that played the kids in the various Vacation movies over the years. Their future success rate seems about 50/50.
