Separated at...well, something.

In their latest issue, Entertainment Weekly named their Entertainer of the Month for August. As they've done previously, they awarded it to an ensemble; in this case, it was the cast of HBO's cult hit True Blood. A quick disclaimer: I don't watch the show, so I haven't seen this guy 'in motion,' and I've looked now and seen many pictures where he doesn't look look this way. However, based on this image and this one, would you forgive me for thinking that actor Sam Trammell was somehow related to a certain former pet detective? In that first image, he looks exactly like the guy that was obsessed with the number 23.

That's all.

4 people have chosen wisely: on "Separated at...well, something."

Maybe it's me, but I've always thought Robert Sean Leonard was a dead ringer for Jim Carrey. You can see him more recently on HOUSE, but my connection goes way back to the 80s.

Leonard was in a cheesy vampire movie called My Best Friend Is A Vampire, while Carrey was in a cheesy vampire movie called Once Bitten.

Ironic, considering we're talking about vampires here, as well. Maybe there's a Jim Carrey vampire conspiracy.

I don't think he's a dead ringer by any means, but I can see the Leonard >> Carrey comparison, even moreso when you bring the vampire stuff into it. But I came to know Leonard from Dead Poets Society, and his role is so unlike a Carrey role (and his acting so much better) that I don't think I could ever confuse the two.

I've seen Leonard in enough "silly" (or unintentionally silly) stuff to see that connection, but I don't make the connection with Trammell, probably because I do watch the show and associate his character with him, but he's far from Carrey. Carrey tried to be that cool in The Number 23 and just looked like a douche.

Protip: Stop watching Survivor. Dedicate your TV time to True Blood instead.
