Tuesday's Twelve Tags #30

Last week's winner: Justin, with 8 points.
The theme: Every film title had a color in it. (Fox)

The theme's have been relatively easy as of late, as I hoped to get more people into the game. This time out, I think I've thought of a great stumper, so it'll be worth a fortune (in worthless points). Please don't kill each other over it. But please do go vote in the two new polls, and be sure to give good ol' Road House a "watch" vote.

Here's the new dozen. The rules are simple: I'm going to give you a dozen taglines, all you have to do is name as many flicks that they belong to as you can. Try to resist the Google. Get the most and you win. There will always be a theme, though it's worth will vary according to how difficult I think it is. This week, it's worth 9 points.

1. She gets kidnapped. He gets killed. But it all ends up okay.
2. Prepare to become obsolete
3. Where it began so it shall end.
4. Saving The World. And Loving It.
5. It was hard to put a team together... until they found out who they were playing.
6. Evolution Begins.
7. If it bleeds, we can kill it...
8. Two Dads, One Toy, No Prisoners.
9. Evil Has A Destiny
10. Who are they? And what do they want?
11. With great power comes great responsibility.
12. "Hello, my name is Andy and this is my poster."

As you get them right, I'll mark them as gotten and stuff. Good luck.

By the way, I know 12 isn't probably Shawshank, but admit it, you laughed.

Wow...I think I'm really ashamed of figuring this out, but...each movie has a pro wrestler in it.

Effing crap nuts! I had a bunch of these (including 12), but my internet died as soon as I hit enter. That's freakin' lame, man.

9. Halloween (remake)

1. The Princess Bride (Andre the Giant)
2.Universal Soldier: The Return (Bill Goldberg)
3. Blade Trinity (HHH)
4. Get Smart (The Great Kahli)

Theme: All of these movies feature professional wrestlers and/or wrestling, (I.E. Jessie Ventura, Andy Kauffman's stint in wrestling, Randy Savage as Bonesaw McGraw etc.)

Goddamn it all. Here I was, thinking I was all clever, and BD nails it 5 minutes after it's been posted, and just for good measure, Paul answers it again 8 minutes later.

I can at least take some pride in the one tag that hasn't been gotten yet. It's the greatest wrestler movie of them all. Not that the movie is all that spectacular, but the usage and performance of the wrestler. You'll see. And you'll be ashamed at yourself.

BD's gonna blow away the competition this time out.

10. They Live (Roddy Piper)

I figured as much before with the title right in the thing.

Nick said...

If it makes you feel better, Fletch, my initial guess for 10 was "The Strangers." "They Live" was my second guess, and I knew it was that after the wrestler theme came up.

Nick said...

Oh, and just because it has to be said:

"I've come to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum."

Paul Arrand Rodgers said...

1. Andre the Giant
2. Goldberg
3. HHH
4. The Great Kahli
5. Steve Austin, Goldberg, Great Kahli
6. Tyler Mane
7. Jessie Ventura
8. The Big Show (the most obscure one on the list, IMO...Giant Santa?)
9. Mane
10. Roddy Piper
11. Randy "Macho Man" Savage
12. Jerry Lawler

My wrestling knowledge knows no bounds. Minus Tyler Mane. Had to wiki his involvement in wrestling, and it wasn't much.
