It's that time again for TGITDNMAR, which (obviously) stands for Thank God It's The Day New Movies Are Released.
With a shortened work day and a trip to the FBR Open (that's a golf tournament for you non-sports fans) scheduled for the afternoon, I bring to you a down and dirty no frills edition of TGITDNMAR.
The Eye
For those of you not yet sick of Asian horror remakes.
Fletch's Chance of Viewing (in the theater): 11%
Strange Wilderness
It may look dumb, but I like the cast. A possible sleeper comedy.
Fletch's Chance of Viewing: 47%
Over Her Dead Body
I was unfortunate enough to watch Just Like Heaven (on cable, mind you). It was a train wreck that I couldn't look away from. This looks worse.
Fletch's Chance of Viewing: Haha. That's a good one.
Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour
What am I, a tween?
Fletch's Chance of Viewing: That's an even better one. I'd be more prone to watch a movie starring Billy Ray.
8 people have chosen wisely: on "TGITDNMAR (2/1/08)"
Unfortunately I have seen Just Like Heaven and Over Her Dead Body so what does that say about me! I'm a glutton for punishment I suppose.
As for Strange Wilderness I too think this'll be a Grandma's Boy-esque sleeper hit worth watching.
None of these movies interest me really. The score to The Eye by Marco Beltrami however...
I kiiiinda want to see Strange Wilderness. Looks like it could be alright. Lots of funny talent packed in there.
@ Wayne - how is it that you see all the chick flicks before they're even released? Do you get screener tickets just to crappy rom-coms? ;)
@ CG - that's my thinking re Strange Wilderness. There's too much potential there for it to suck horribly. Even one of the Broken Lizard guys (Farva) is in it.
It does seem that way doesn't it!? I will be so glad once V-Day has come and gone and I can get into crappy spring and summer flicks.
Ha ha... I threatened to see Hannah Montana this weekend in order to get Captain Crash to use his veto on that one instead of There Will Be Blood. He called my bluff, though. Pooh.
Bah, I really wish they would stop with the remakes of Asian horror films already. It's not like they're doing them any justice what so ever.
What are your chances of seeing Fool's Gold in theaters?
I hope laughable!
