8 people have chosen wisely: on "Dudes of the 80s Tournament - Round 1: Christopher Reeve (4) vs Michael J. Fox (5)"
Team Fox!
Agree with Mrs. Fletch. Reeve was too old for me in the 80s. And we loved Family Ties at my house.
**shakes fist furiously!** Why would you pair these two together and make me choose. I'm going to have to go with Reeve. Fox was adorable and irresistibly cute, but Reeve's Superman! Plus he had those dreamy eyes.
My vote is for Fox, too. And not for his comedies oddly enough, but for his dramatic chops in BRIGHT LIGHTS, BIG CITY CASUALTIES OF WAR.
Based on pure coolness and 80's career I'll go with Fox. Never liked Reeves as Superman.
I think Reeve made an ideal Superman - kind of robotic, tall, dark and handsome, quote-unquote all-American - you name it, he looked the part. Somewhat sadly, the role took over his career, iconic as it might have been.
Meanwhile, Fox was able to create not one or two but three iconic roles, and more or less was a household name for the duration of the decade. From a pure pop culture standpoint, he's a force in this tournament.
However, you'd be hard-pressed to convince anyone that Fox > Reeve in the looks department, "cute" or not.
I like Fox's resume more, but I think Reeves is the better looking of the two.
I have to go with MJF. When you think of "80s", you think of him.
