Last week's winner: BD79, dusting the competition with 14 points.
The theme: Each film featured a current or former pro wrestler in it (BD79)
Here's the new dozen. The rules are simple: I'm going to give you a dozen taglines, all you have to do is name as many flicks that they belong to as you can. Try to resist the Google. Get the most and you win. There will always be a theme, though it's worth will vary according to how difficult I think it is. This week, I'm not sure if the theme will play out as ridiculously easy (the shape of it should come to you relatively quickly) or ridiculously hard (there's a bit of a trick to it, and I leave it to you to figure out) - I just have a hunch it won't be in that middle ground. As such, I'm valuing it at 6 points.
1. The year's most seductive comedy!
2. He's putting the "I" back in team.
3. If only life were as easy as pie.
4. Some things are better left top secret
5. It's 11:59 on New Year's Eve. Do you know where your date is?
6. Never judge a girl by her address.
7. The future is history.
8. His father taught him to hate. His friends taught him rage. His enemies gave him hope.
9. Make your own rules
10. Saving the galaxy one planet at a time!
11. They're Having So Much Fun It's Illegal.
12. Who will walk away?
As you get them right, I'll mark them as gotten and stuff. Good luck.

Ok, everything's been updated. Yes, Mike, 7 was 12 Monkeys.
Alright, it looks like the theme was indeed hard (or you've all given up because Mr. Cage has such a huge lead; I'll be making a change to remedy this sort of situation next week). In the meantime, here's a hint:
The theme is cast-related.
Theme: Every movie has an actor/actress that was/is in a popular TV show.
1. Six Feet Under (Lili Taylor)
2. The Bernie Mac Show (Bernie Mac)
3. Firefly (Nathan Fillion) or Matlock (Andy Griffith)
4. Arrested Development (Michael Cera)
5. Chappelle Show (Dave Chappelle)
6. Numbers or Firefly (David Krumholtz) or Grounded for Life (Kevin Corrigan)
7. Moonlighting (Bruce Willis)
8. Boy Meets World (Ethan Suplee)
10. 24 (Janeane Garofalo)
11. ER (George Clooney) or Bernie Mac Show (Bernie Mac)
Or, if it's more specific, actors who made their start in television?
It has nothing to do with television, but you're getting slightly warmer.
Wow... I thought I had that one, considering there was at least one for each film thus far.
#9 is Varsity Blues. Are you SURE it has nothing to do with TV?
-"24 Hours to Midnight: The Blog!"
http://24hourstomidnight.wordpress.com
Hey 24 Hrs - welcome, and yes, #9 is indeed Varsity Blues. But I'm afraid I'm quite sure that the theme is not TV-related.
Varsity Blues? That adds Dawson's Creek to the list.
Come on, Fletch... face it, this has more than one theme! :P
I don't doubt that, every week, the 12 movies could have numerous themes, like "each movie has someone whose last name starts with R" or something even less cruel. It just so happens that the perfectly perfect theme you've come up with has nothing to do with the one I set out for.
I'll give you one more hint: the answer is almost right in front of your face. Almost.
Hmm... I'm sure I'm gonna end up helping somebody else, but the only connection I see is between 200 Cigarettes, Titan A.E., and Ocean's Eleven.
I dunno. I give up. And I'll probably feel stupid when it's revealed.
(Oh, and possibly Mr. 3000).
"but the only connection I see is between 200 Cigarettes, Titan A.E., and Ocean's Eleven (and possibly Mr. 3000)."
And what would that connection be?
It's all about Ocean's 11. . . every film has one of the stars of that movie in it, (especially the second to last one, #11. . haha)
12 is After the Sunset (Cheadle)
9 is Varsity Blues (Caan)
Damn. Just one short.
Oh, someone already got VB. Oh well. Two short. . .
I guess it could be stated as "Ocean's Trilogy" just to be safe, since you did say "Almost" - -
Actually, Justin, you're two short, as 24 Hours got Varisty Blues above (I just hadn't edited the post yet).
And you are tehcnically incorrect, but factually correct. The official theme was that "Each film had someone from Ocean's Twelve in it."
I so wanted to do "from Ocean's Eleven," using just the 11 guys + the film itself, but since the Asian acrobat has ONLY BEEN IN 3 MOVIES (all of which are the Ocean's movies), I amended to O12, using O11 as his movie, with Julia Roberts being the 12th in O12.
It all made perfect sense to me, anyway, even if it got a little tricky. Either way, you've definitely earned the 6 points...but fell just short of first.
Fletch: since you asked, the original thing I noticed was the Ben Affleck/Matt Damon connection (best friends, possibly Good Will Hunting or Dogma). Then I noticed the Casey Affleck connection, as well (brother of Ben, and also in two of the movies). And, of course, Bernie Mac (in two of the movies).
But this wasn't the first time you've had actors that are in multiple movies with each other from your list of 12, though that's never the theme, so I've learned to ignore that.
And none of the others were clicking with me, though, for some reason.
