Last week's winner: Nick, with 7 points. He got only one of the 12 flicks, but got the 6-point theme (and with only one minor hint).
The theme: At least one of The Goonies was in each of the films.
Here's the new dozen. The rules are simple: I'm going to give you a dozen taglines, all you have to do is name as many flicks that they belong to as you can. Try to resist the Google. Get the most and you win. There will always be a theme, though it's worth will vary according to how difficult I think it is. This week's theme will likely piss you off. 10 points. On the bright side, many of the tags themselves are pieces of cake.
1. Welcome to Savannah, Georgia. A City Of Hot Nights And Cold Blooded Murder.
2. I am not an animal! I am a human being! I...am...a man!
3. We got to do something...You know what we are gonna do ? Toga party!
4. When good luck is a long shot, you have to hedge your bets.
5. A Masterpiece Of Modern Horror
6. John Landis - the director of Animal House brings you a different kind of animal
7. Heel the love
8. When Ambition Meets Faith
9. . . and when it's all over one of them won't be laughing
10. They figured he was a lazy time wasting slacker. They were right.
11. The Dark Side of Nature.
12. An ordinary high school day. Except that it's not.
As you get them right, I'll mark them as gotten and stuff. Good luck. No hints.

Theme: Dogs?
5. The Shining
But I need to work on that theme to win this...
Theme guesses:
- Movies that feature bowling or bowling alleys.
- Movies with dream sequences.
- Each movie has a connection with Boogie Nights?
12. Elephant. All the movies have an animal connection. Okay, I know they all don't, but that's my guess.
9. The King of Comedy
Oh, and my fourth theme guess is that each movie's director has had a movie at least nominated for an Academy Award.
All tags picked up. All theme guesses...not even close.
Your first hint: Characters.
All have characters that go by a nickname?
-Jason
All have a major character that dies?
Wild Guess # 1. They all have a character that gets checked out by a doctor.
No, nope, huh-uh.
Second hint: now think Actors.
Does it have to do anything with facial hair on actors that may not have had much before?
a ha!
The theme is that every movie has an actor whose character shares their own first name.
For bonus points... (or at least kudos)...
1. John Cusack - John Kelso

3. John Belushi - John Blutarsky
4. John C. Reilly - John

8. Daniel Day-Lewis - Daniel Plainview
9. Jerry Lewis - Jerry Langford
10. Jeff Bridges - Jeffrey 'The Dude' Lebowski
11. Bill Paxton - Bill Harding
12. The entire freakin' cast.
I'm impressed, Nick. Nice job. I didn't think anyone would get it.
Though, for clarification, it was that one of the "lead actors" shared the first name with their characters. I wouldn't be cruel enough to do one where it was a lower supporting or bit player. In the 12 I chose, it's either the 1A or 1B star.
Two in a row!
Damn - I hadn't even noticed that I had ordered them in such a way that the stars/character names of the first four films were all "John." Bad coincidence/planning on my part, as that could have been a huge clue in and or itself.
I'm having a good day for figuring out the impossible today.
This guy I work with has been trying to figure out a movie based on about a 1-minute clip. The movie's about 40 years old, French, and with no clearly famous actors. Not to mention the clip is utterly random.
So I've been searching for it for a couple days and have found nothing. He shows me the clip finally today (he had just described it to me before, though fairly well). So I do another google search of randomness and find it the first time. It was some 1969 French movie called "The Milky Way." Totally random.
