Lame! That Velvet Goldmine poster looks almost exactly like the one you gave (big face and everything).
Haha - that's great about Goldmine. I didn't realize how perfectly it fit into my hints, but it really does (though is there a "villain" in it, per se?).
Anyway, it doesn't look like anyone's gonna get it, so here be the answer:
Nick, you even had the first letter right - it's Virtuosity. Wendy, I said you were warm because they're both bad 90s flicks that are tied to the tech world.
Oh, and I think I threw you all off with my hint about there being a large face on the poster. You big bunch of racists (hehe) probably all thought that the light-colored blob was the face....but it ain't.
