The gloves are off. Not only did Evan get the last one (The Bone Collector) way too fast (second guess), but gave me a virtual glove slap, stating, half-jokingly, "Yeah, whatever Fletch. Like you can come up with something that we can't figure out. Bring it baby."
I say "Good day, sir!" And "Game on!" Also, expect Stained Glass Cinema to stick around, and to become a frequent, regular addition to the stable of events here. Twice a week, three times - who knows. I just know that I've got a bunch lined up, so I hope you like 'em.
Standings:
Steel11Kane - 1
TonyD - 1
Evan Derrick - 1
31 people have chosen wisely: on "Stained Glass Cinema #4"
Ooooh. Much harder. This is going to be fun.
Muah ha ha ha ha!
First wild and crazy guess: Cyborg 2?
Negative, ghost rider. The pattern is full.
The best guess I have right now is American Psycho?
Hmm... guy wearing a tux and a lady in a blue dress? He's pointing a gun? Is it a Bond movie? Living Daylights?
Nope. Nope.
If no one gets the answer for any of these, it will be posted at the start of the next episode.
Ok, going out on a limb here, but it does keep with the Nicolas Cage theme:
It Could Happen To You.
What say you?
Nope, but the Cage theme ain't a bad idea...
I love Cage themes.
Bangkok Dangerous?
Hint: this one is not Cage-inspired. I just liked the idea in general.
Ain't nobody getting this one, but here's a hint: it's from the 90s and stars two big-name actors. And both of them are featured on the poster.
The Skulls
It couldn't be Philadelphia? Could it?
Oh, whatever. Philadelphia.
It could not be. But you're getting warmer.
hmm titanic maybe? if anyone actually ever made a stained glass window that bad, theyd be fired...
-Gay
Pelican Brief?
Negative, ghost rid - damnit, I already used that one.
No to both of you.
Last hint I'm giving: think flop.
The Avengers?
I smell desperation.
Okay, keep guessing. I won't pipe up again until someone gets it. IF someone gets it...
Err...Beloved?
I don't think this is it... but...
Virtuosity?
Broken Arrow matches up pretty well, but I can't imagine you would call Christian Slater a "big-name actor." Oh, and I can't figure out why you'd say "you're getting warmer" in response to Philadelphia.
Amos and Andrew and here are the reasons:
1. You said that the Cage theme wasn't a bad idea. But didn't totally exclude Cage in general.
2. Whoever said Philadelphia, you said was getting warmer, and not only was Amos and Andrew released in 1993, the same year as Philadelphia, both posters feature an interracial pair of big name actors.
3. Now I cannot find an Amos and Andrew poster that looks like your stained glass version, but I and my roommate believe with all our hearts that Amos and Andrew is the movie.
This poster lines up the best with your clues and mostly come from my roommate. But if by some miracle this is Amos and Andrew, I want 5 points.
I'm afraid none of you have gotten it. I'm gonna have to put up a new one just so I can give you all the answer and put you out of your misery.
Jason, I love that you just wrote 200 words defending your A & A reasoning. Awesome. It's a good pick, and you're line of thinking is solid, but alas...no.
Don't read too much into the "getting warmer" comment. I mostly said that because it too is a film with two big-name stars featured (and featured on the poster) and it's in the ballpark timewise. I could say the same thing about Broken Arrow, but true, Slater might not qualify (at least not now - he might've then).
Next one's going up this afternoon. I'll have to make it easier so people don't quit on me. ;)
I refuse to ever quit! The Last Boy Scout, or Demolition Man, maybe..?
MAD CITY!!!!
Congrats - I'm impressed (and also scared, wondering how much time you spent trying to get it).
What led you to that?
We were searching John Travolta movies knowing that he was a big star in the 90s. It was a two day non-stop venture to find it though. But well worth the time. My roommate didn't even miss a class. When you display the points, can you put Daniel and Jason? Also, 1997 is not in the ballpark of 1993 my friend!
Yeah, I was gonna say that Broken Arrow was really warm because Travolta was in it, but that would have made it too easy.
No problem on the standings entry.
And 97 most certainly is in the ballpark of 93. Just wait until I use a poster from the 70s or earlier...
