Can we just get a disc with both movies as they were shown in theatres? That's all I really want. No, I just really want Edgar Wright's trailer for Don't.
Ditto on the Amens. I've still not purchased either of the "separate" films, and have no plans to until the joint DVD is released, and goddamnit, it will be one day.
Rachel, I don't actually think it's an empty promise, I think he's just draggin' ass, waiting, as the articles I've read state, to film it concurrently with Sin City 2. I'm just getting impatient. The world needs more Danny Trejo.
I thought Machete was currently in production to come out to DVD next year or something.
As for both Grindhouse movies together... I really don't care. I loved Planet Terror, but didn't care about Death Proof (except for the final 20 minutes).
I'm also of the opinion that there should be a DVD set of "Grindhouse" that was like exactly how it was in the theater, cause that, to me, was such a cool experience.
I STILL blame the general movie going audience for not getting it and being dumbasses about the whole thing while they went to see "Wild Hogs" or whatever was out at that time. -Jason
I know the STARZ movie channel was showing both GRINDHOUSE films together with all of the faux trailers. I managed to tape it one night.
I too am hoping that Rodriguez gets going on the MACHETE film but it looks like his plate is full already. He's currently making some family film with James Spader (?!) and is going to be producing a remake of RED SONJA with his main squeeze Rose McGowan starring in it. Huh. I guess BARBARELLA is on the back burner along with SIN CITY 2 and MACHETE?
What's more unbelievable? That I still haven't seen Death Proof or that I'm still familiar with this trailer and movie based on all my friends raving about it?
14 people have chosen wisely: on "Robert Rodriguez, I'm still waiting..."

Empty promises just like RR's good buddy, QT.
And I second Mike's request.
Amen Mike.

I believe there was a box set released in Japan earlier this year. Still waiting for the powers that be to wise up...
But yeah, Machete would/will be awesome.
*snorts
We'll see that as soon as we get Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.

@ Mike - hey, at least the Bills were released in theaters seperately...
@ Nick - It doesn't look like that, at least according to IMDb. Trejo's still the only actor listed, iirc.
And while I, on the other hand, preferred Death Proof, I still want both together as I saw them on the big screen.
@ Jason - Amen, brotha. It was an awesome experience, and yes, people are morons. Friggin' Wild Hogs and Ghost Rider... :(
Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino suck at this whole, "I'm going to promise you something and then deliver" thing.
I've been in a state of constant excitement over Machete for what feels like a long-ass time. Hurry up, RR!

Yeah, seriously! Where the hell is my MACHETE? This needs to happen and soon.
Oh yes, what the world needs is a remake of RED SONJA. Jeesh.
